Dakota Alpha, a 20-bed skilled nursing facility located in Mandan that specializes and serves individuals with an acquired and traumatic brain injury, resulting in both physical and cognitive disabilities. Dakota Alpha is the only skilled nursing facility in North Dakota specializing in providing rehabilitation services for individuals with a brain injury.

Dakota Alpha is seeking a dependable, dedicated, passionate Assistant Director of Nursing to help our residents reach independence through providing dignity and respect.

The successful candidate will work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, including On Call rotation, which includes working as direct care nursing staff as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directly reports to and is supervised by the DON.
  • Responsible for assuring that medical needs of the residents are met.
  • Ability to plan, innovate, define clear performance objectives, delegate, utilize time effectively, analyze problems, and make decisions.
  • Ability to coach, guide, support, and train others to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with resident responsible parties, facility staff, and facility disciplines to ensure clear communication and quality resident care is provided.
  • Assist Director of Nursing in nursing staff scheduling.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) and resident Care Plan meetings to relay information regarding resident progress/need in areas of Nursing.
  • Participate in resident care planning.
  • Assist with facility physician coordination.
  • Assist with auditing and skills competency training for aides and nurses.
  • Assists with the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of residents within the skilled nursing setting.
  • Responsible for ensuring continuity of care, as well as supervising the care given by nursing staff in the absence of the DON.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred, but not required.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Dakota.
  • 2+ years of nursing experience required. Long term care or assisted living experience also helpful.
  • Management experience required.
  • Current BLS certification
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Moderate computer knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and typing skills.
