This position is responsible for managing the kitchen of a 20-bed brain injury treatment facility.
  • Interview, hire, and evaluate employee performances: promote, discipline, and/or terminate employment of dietary staff.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, coordinate dietitian in services, plan meals and snacks, implement therapeutic diets, assure nutritional balance, and assure sanitary and safe conditions in the dining room and kitchen areas.
  • Complete appropriate written reports, food acceptance records, IPP/CP's, dietary progress notes and kitchen recordkeeping forms.  Plan menus and consult with dietitian as needed.  Schedule monthly dietary meeting to assure smooth running of the department and required in services are held
  • Ensure that dining and kitchen equipment, work areas and storage areas are in compliance with applicable health department standards.
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor annual food budget.  Order, purchase and deliver food supplies so one week of supplies and food is on hand at all times.

  • HIT will sponsor obtaining a Certified Dietary Manager accreditation
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Pay rate $22.00-$26.00 per hour
